Latest News - A dishonest buyer and their false 1-Star review

Huge thanks (not) to one of our Amazon buyers who tried to pull a fast one. We are a small business and have no time for dishonest buyers -- the buyer completely fabricated a false 1-star Trustpilot review against our business.

They raised an Amazon A-Z Guarantee Claim against an Amazon order with us. A great scheme Amazon offers for protecting genuine/nice customers, however a 'pigs ear' when the buyer is a dishonest one. To start with, an A-Z process should only commence when there is a genuine dispute between the buyer and seller, hopefully after some communication. The buyer lied in their claim and was never interested in talking to us.

In short, and over a number of separate posts the buyer claimed the product arrived used, then later said it looked OK but didn't work... the buyer's response to our very first enquiry was 'where is my refund', not like I have this issue, let me explain. Lovely! Of course where stated 'Brand New', we sell/send brand new items. We are a genuine business. We were courteous with our communications with the buyer and funded return postage for the item.

On finally receiving the device back for assessment (approximately a week later), we discovered the item had not even been opened! To state it more accurately, our original packaging was untouched! ...there was no sign or evidence of damage to the packaging. Who could believe it? The device was the same serial number as we had recorded in the sale. The original manaufacturers packaging was sealed. We video record all returns for our protection and the protection of our customers.

We challenged the buyer because that's what we do as a reliable and caring small business. We have been unsuccessful obtaining a truthful explanation from them regarding their 'used/broken' claim?! We can only surmise that the buyer was attempting to seek an immediate refund from Amazon without returning the item to us. By the way Amazon rejected not one but two A-Z claims from the buyer and this order.

Because the item was not opened, we provided the customer a full refund of the item, less the return postage (we paid the return postage for this item from the bullshit lying buyer so we extracted this cost).

The buyer has since trashed our business on Trustpilot with multiple posts across different aliases. And has ranted widely through Amazon messaging with the order.

We have found working with Amazon and Trustpilot to be very difficult. They are not geared up to confront lying/dishonest buyers and even now we continue to argue for posts to be removed. Frankly they don't really care to intervene. The reality with these enormous platforms is that you cannot talk/discuss/reason with a real person (no single or dedicated business contact is assigned), unless you are a large organisation.

Onwards & upwards...
